Cynthia Ashe

Cynthia is a distinguished veteran of the Canadian Armed Forces, where she served as an Intelligence Operator and Analyst. She earned accolades such as Top Candidate on Basic Training and the Joint Task Force Commander’s Commendation for her work in Afghanistan, and she was the first Canadian female Paratrooper in the Intelligence Branch. Cynthia continues to support her military community as a Board member for the Veteran’s Association Food Bank.

In 2012, Cynthia joined the Royal Canadian Mounted Police, becoming the fourth member of her immediate family to serve. She has been recognized with the McNeil Shield for Leadership and Excellence, the RCMP Veteran’s Association Community Service Award, and was named to Alexa’s Team for her efforts in removing impaired drivers from the streets of British Columbia. In 2023, she received the Beverley Maclean Legacy Award for her contributions to Child Abuse Investigations.

Currently based in Calgary, Cynthia has been part of the Serious Crimes Branch since 2019, specializing in Child Abuse Investigations and Child Forensic Interviewing. She is dedicated to mentoring and training others to improve practices in these areas. Outside of work, Cynthia maintains her mental and physical wellness by competing in the Toughest Competitor Alive event at the World Police & Fire Games, and enjoys running, snowboarding, surfing, and spending time with family and friends.
